Do I call the same Lifeline number no matter what my concern?

For any problems you’re facing and want to talk about with a trained volunteer crisis supporter, call Lifeline on 13 11 14. Our crisis support team will listen to you and direct you to the most appropriate support. For general inquiries about Lifeline and what we have to offer, including training courses and volunteer opportunities, our op shops and how to make donations of furniture, clothes and other items, contact our Gippsland office and speak to our friendly staff.

What happens when I call the Lifeline telephone crisis support line?

Lifeline telephone crisis support volunteers have had comprehensive training to:

  • Listen to your situation
  • Provide immediate support
  • Provide options available to you
  • Provide referral information for services in the Gippsland community that can help.

Will my call to Lifeline be confidential?

Yes, our experienced and highly trained volunteers keep your details confidential but they will seek enough information to provide you with appropriate referral support.

What volunteer opportunities are there with Lifeline Gippsland?

You can volunteer as a telephone crisis supporter but must first complete the required training course. There is also volunteer work available as an assistant in a Lifeline Gippsland op shop, packaging and sorting items in the warehouse and distribution centre, or driving to collect and distribute donations.
