On behalf of Lifeline Gippsland, we extend our heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude to the amazing members of @lv.country.line.dancers, Rebel Bootscooters and Ramblin’ Rose for your extraordinary support.

For an incredible ninth consecutive year, these three wonderful groups have come together with a shared commitment to making a difference — this year raising an amazing $30,674 for Lifeline Gippsland and helping shine a light on depression and suicide awareness. 💙

Your fundraising does so much more than raise vital funds. It creates conversations, builds awareness, and reminds people that they are not alone and that help is available.

We were incredibly grateful to be part of your event and to have the opportunity to share a little about the work of Lifeline Gippsland.

Meeting such passionate and compassionate community members is a powerful reminder of what can happen when people come together with purpose.

As we reflect on this year's Out of the Shadows Walk 2026, we wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your support, participation, and commitment to such an important cause.

It is difficult to put into words just how much it meant to see our community come together in recognition of World Suicide Prevention Day. Whether you joined one of our Lifeline Gippsland walks, organised your own walk with friends, family or colleagues, or supported the event in another way, your involvement helped create opportunities for connection, reflection, remembrance, and hope.

On behalf of everyone at Lifeline Gippsland, THANK YOU!

Our purpose is to support people to be resilient and suicide-safe. Thanks to your incredible generosity and support, our fundraising total has reached $35,643, far surpassing our original goal of $15,000. Special thank you's go out to our friends @bluecupcoffee and Barb from @bunnings Morwell for their wonderful contributions of coffee and plants for all participants.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the compassion, commitment, and community spirit shown by everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and helped spread our message. Every dollar raised helps ensure that Lifeline Gippsland can continue to provide support, connection, and hope to people when they need it most, often during some of the most difficult and challenging moments of their lives.

World Op Shop Day!
📅 One month to go until World Op Shop Day on 17th of October!
Join Lifeline Gippsland in celebrating the positive impact of op shops on our community.
Our organisation couldn’t exist without the income that is raised from our shops across Gippsland. Every dollar spent in our stores helps create a suicide safe Gippsland by supporting the 13 11 14 crisis support service, local suicide prevention activities, and community awareness initiatives.

That is why this World Op Shop Day we will be celebrating every donation, purchase, and volunteer contribution that helps to create a Suicide safe region while supporting our community.

Today is World Suicide prevention Day.

We come together as a community to remember the lives lost to suicide, to stand beside those who have been impacted, and to show our support for anyone who may be experiencing emotional distress, grief or mental health challenges.

For some, the walks across Gippsland and Cardinia may be deeply personal. They may be walking in memory of someone they love, in support of a friend or family member, or as a quiet act of hope for themselves or others. However you come to this walk today, please know, you do not walk alone.

The Out of the Shadows Walk is a powerful reminder of why conversations about suicide and mental health must be brought into the light. Stigma can make people feel isolated, but compassion, connection and open conversations can help people feel safer to reach out. We do not need to have all the answers to make a difference. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is listen without judgement, check in with someone we care about, and remind them that help is available.

Lifeline’s message is simple but vital: no one should have to face their darkest moments alone. Across Australia, Out of the Shadows walks invite people to walk in remembrance, to raise awareness, and to support crisis support and suicide prevention services. Here in Gippsland, this gathering also reflects the strength of our local community — people showing up for one another with kindness, respect and care. Every step we take together helps send a message that suicide prevention is everyone’s business, and that hope begins with connection.

As we walk, we invite you to hold in your hearts those we have lost, those who are grieving, those who are struggling, and those who work every day to support others through crisis. May today be a reminder that even small acts of care can have a lasting impact; a conversation, a check-in, a moment of listening, a willingness to walk beside someone.

Together, let’s bring suicide awareness, out of the shadows.
