Today we join communities around the globe in recognising and honouring the cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.

This day marks the anniversary of the first meeting of the United Nations Working Group on Indigenous Populations in 1982 , a pivotal moment in the global movement for Indigenous rights and recognition.

At Lifeline Gippsland, we acknowledge the rich cultural heritage and deep connection to Country that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to uphold. We stand in solidarity and respect for their
resilience, wisdom, and ongoing contributions to community and wellbeing.

Lifeline Gippsland Turns 57!
Today we celebrate 57 years of connection, compassion, and community care.
Since 1968, Lifeline Gippsland has been here to listen, day or night, providing vital crisis support and suicide prevention services across our region. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our volunteers and team,
we’ve answered countless calls, and continue to be a lifeline for those in need.
We’re proud of our history, and even more inspired for the future. Thank you to everyone who’s walked this journey with us — you’ve helped save lives.
Here’s to continuing our mission!

OUT OF THE SHADOWS WALK 2025
Join us to walk for World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10) to remember those lost to suicide, raise funds to support the 13 11 14 Crisis Support Line, and to help reduce the stigma around mental health and suicide.

You can walk to remember a loved one, as a personal tribute for a friend or family member, or to show your support for Australians experiencing emotional distress or mental illness.

Through connection, compassion, and hope, we will come together to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and commit to preventing further loss to suicide.

This year, our Gippsland community has felt the weight of loss—and now more than ever, we encourage you to take part in the Out of the Shadows Walk, either in-person at Kernot Lake or virtually.

Invite your friends, family, workplace, sporting club, or community group, and register to join team Lifeline Gippsland.
