CONNECT Call Back Service – Coming Soon

February 21, 2017

Lifeline Gippsland’s Connect Call Back Service is just around the corner!

Commencing in April 2017, the Connect Call Back Service will offer short-term telephone support for people who are experiencing significant crisis in their lives. It will also be available to family/friends who are caring for people in crisis.

At the core of the program is “connection”.  Help-seekers engaged with the program will be matched with an experienced Crisis Support Worker who will call at regular agreed times over a period of up to 8 weeks.

During these calls people will have the opportunity to work through their current situation with a caring listener. Together they will develop and implement a plan to stay safe, increase resilience and affirm self-worth, strengthen positive coping mechanisms and skills, and increase a sense of connection with personal and professional supports. A cohesive referral pathway for clients via local service providers and Lifeline (13 11 14) will also form part of the service.

Expected outcomes include increased perception of self-worth, increased coping skills and strengthened resilience, an increased commitment to help-seeking actions/behaviours and an increased connection to community (formal and/or informal supports).
