World Suicide Prevention Day.

Today, we walk together, Out of the Shadows Walk to remember those lost to suicide and support Australians currently in crisis.

Lifeline acknowledges that behind every statistic is a person, an individual life lost, a life which was valued and is missed. We recognise the individuals, families, carers, colleagues, and communities impacted by suicide.

For those who joined us today we thank you. The support from the Gippsland community has been nothing short of incredible 💙 As well as many community members, we have had numerous organisations walk with us to help reduce the stigma, and support help seeking behaviours, so we can realise our vision of an Australia free from suicide @victoriapolice @quantumsupportservices @anglicarevictoria ACSO Baw Baw Shire Council @positivemindsgippsland @tafegippsland

A huge thank you to all of the people (and dogs!) who attended the Out of the Shadows Walk in Traralgon today- we were absolutely blown away by the amount of people who showed up to remember those lives lost to suicide, and to reduce the stigma around mental health and help seeking behaviours.

We had teams attending @victoriapolice, @quantumsupportservices,@anglicarevictoria, and ACSO, as well as numerous community members- some who had travelled from as far as Dandenong and Inverloch to show their support 💙

This week, our training officer Jack Symes popped in to visit the Warragul Municipal Band, who are participating in the Out of the Shadows Fundraiser to help remember those lost to suicide, and to help save lives 💙
So impressed was Jack with this wonderful community group, we thought for a brief moment that he may leave his day job to join the band...

A Huge Thank You to Energy Australia!

We are excited to announce that we were successful in our application of the Energy Australia Community Grants program. Because of this, we were able to purchase a new rag cutter for our amazing team of volunteers.

This amazing addition allows us to give second life to old textiles, diverting waste from landfill, and turning it into quality cleaning rags for local businesses.

Better still, all proceeds from our rag sales help fund Lifeline's 13 11 14 crisis support line, providing vital support to those in need.
