Lifeline Gippsland is seeking a Casual Retail Assistant to join our Traralgon retail team.
This position has been created specifically to help support our Saturday trading roster. While the role is focused on Saturday shifts, it is important to note that you will not be required to work every Saturday. The successful applicant will be rostered for selected Saturdays throughout the year.
At present, Saturday shifts have been rostered through until January 2027, with a review of roster requirements scheduled for December 2026.

At Lifeline Gippsland, our mission is to lead, develop and deliver programs and services that support Gippsland to be suicide safe. At the heart of our service is the 13 11 14 telephone crisis phone line. Our retail stores play a vital role in funding crisis support, suicide prevention initiatives, community programs and training across Gippsland.
About the Role
Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Retail Assistant is responsible for:
- Providing exceptional customer service to customers and donors
- Operating the point-of-sale system professionally and efficiently
- Pricing and preparing donated goods for sale
- Merchandising stock and maintaining attractive displays
- Assisting with store presentation and housekeeping
- Working collaboratively with staff and volunteers
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the store
About You
Essential Requirements
- Retail, sales and/or customer service experience
- Availability to work rostered Saturday shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Current Driver Licence
- Willingness to undertake a Police Check
Desirable
- Experience working with second-hand clothing, accessories or homewares
- Experience working alongside volunteers
- Experience using point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures
- Current First Aid qualification

Important Information
This is a temporary casual position primarily designed to fill Saturday shifts. Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will be provided with the current Saturday roster requirements through to January 2027 so they can fully understand the commitment before proceeding.
