Suicide and its Link to Remoteness

September 27, 2016

Suicide rates increase with increases in remoteness; this means that East Gippsland and Wellington possibly experience some vulnerability to suicide relating to greater distance from main population centers.

Have you spotted our fabulous new signs?

Thanks to support from the Latrobe City Council Quick Response Grant, we’ve introduced new signage to help our customers see the impact of their purchases and donations.

Every item purchased and every donation made in our stores helps support Lifeline’s 13 11 14 crisis support service. By shopping with us, our customers are not only giving pre-loved goods a new home—they’re also helping fund vital mental health services and raising awareness of the support available within our community.

Our sincere appreciation goes out to Latrobe City Council.

Together, we’re making a real difference. 💙

Lifeline Gippsland is in urgent need of donations for our Rag Sales.
Rag Sales play an important part in helping to fund our crisis line so we can continue to provide support to those in our community, while also helping local businesses.

If you have old towels or flannels that you no longer need, donations would be much appreciated! We also accept donations of t-shirts and windcheaters.

Donations can be made to our shops in Morwell, Traralgon, Churchill and Wonthaggi or by calling 03 51363500.

The Push-Up Challenge Wrap-Up

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our centre during this year’s Push-Up Challenge.

Your efforts and contributions in pushing for better mental health have certainly not gone unnoticed. This year, an incredible 22 teams, 121 legends took part in the challenge, completing a remarkable 227,778 push-ups and exercises while raising $13,574 along the way.

Your support of Lifeline Gippsland directly contributes to our mission of building a more resilient and suicide-safer community. Every push-up, donation, and conversation has helped make a meaningful difference.

Thank you once again for being part of this important initiative. Take some time to rest and recover—and perhaps consider taking on the next challenge: maintaining the momentum and incorporating these healthy habits into your everyday life.

We’d love to hear how you're going, so keep us posted!

Thank you for pushing for better mental health. 💙
