The gift of legacy

May 24, 2017

Donations, contributions and connections with Lifeline come in many shapes and sizes. This month we have been gifted a beautiful legacy in the shape of box of hand-made gift cards. As with most legacies, this one has a story worth telling.

The lady who made these cards was diagnosed with dementia toward the end of her life. Even as her memory faded, her children recall her patiently working on her paper-craft of making unique cards that she wanted people to enjoy. She wanted people to know that someone had thought of them when they received her cards. Carrying forward this willingness to touch others with a simple thoughtful act, this donation of hand-made treasures will now be used by Lifeline Gippsland to thank, congratulate, encourage, and console others.
