LLG Inaugural Golf Day Outcome
July 27, 2017The Lifeline Gippsland Inaugural Charity Golf Day held on Friday 7th July was a huge success and a fun day was had by all.
Even though the start to the day was an incredibly cold and frosty 1 degree Celsius, the ‘Putt for Show’ and ‘Crazy Putt’ competitions soon warmed up the players prior to teeing off for an 18 hole Ambrose event.
Teams came from across Gippsland to play at the Morwell Golf Course which all players praised as being in terrific condition. Lifeline Gippsland staff and volunteers assisted on the day by taking registration details, recording putting competition details and by continually driving the 18 holes offering refreshments to players.
The winning team on the day was the Midstate Credit Collect Team, the Team Captain reluctantly accepted the ‘Green Jacket’ presented by Acting CEO of Lifeline Gippsland, David Rohde, much to the amusement of all other players. Winning team members won Big Swing Golf Vouchers and Bunnings Hardware Vouchers kindly donated by Ray Drummond Golf and Bunnings.
The ‘Green Jacket’ (a very ugly Op Shop item) will now become a feature for the Team Captain of the winning team at all future Lifeline Gippsland Charity Golf Days.
Due to the success of the day and overwhelming offers from the players of additional team registration and support, we are already planning next year’s event and have selected Friday the 20th April, 2018 as our second Lifeline Gippsland Charity Golf Day. We hope that we will be able to count on the full support from our wonderful community once again.
