Suicide and its Link to Remoteness

September 27, 2016

Suicide rates increase with increases in remoteness; this means that East Gippsland and Wellington possibly experience some vulnerability to suicide relating to greater distance from main population centers.

A corporate volunteering day might feel like one day out of the office.

For Lifeline Gippsland, it can mean more stock processed, more funds raised and more crisis calls answered.

The team at Loy Yang B Power Station has shown what genuine corporate partnership can look like: local people using their time and skills to strengthen the community they live and work in. And the impact goes far beyond physical labour. Their support removes pressure from our team, builds our capacity and allows us to focus on the work that matters most.

Lifeline Gippsland must raise 90% of the funding needed to keep our local crisis support centre operating. We’re looking for more businesses willing to stand beside us through volunteering, funding, resources or long-term partnership.

If your organisation wants to create meaningful impact right here in Gippsland, we’d love to start a conversation.
Because supporting Lifeline Gippsland means helping ensure someone is there to answer when a local person needs it most.

Send us a message to discuss becoming a corporate partner.

Why do we walk?

Behind every statistic is a person, a family, a friend, a colleague and a community.

The Out of the Shadows Walk is about coming together to create connection, remember those we've lost, and support those who may be struggling.

When communities come together, conversations become easier, support becomes stronger, and people feel less alone.

This September, join us in walking your own way and being part of something bigger across Gippsland.
